Rick Barker, B.S., M.A., CPE

Rick Barker, Senior Consultant and Ergonomics Engineer for Humantech, supports ergonomic project deployments, performs ergonomic risk assessments and on-site data collection, facilitates Humantech's RAPID^® Team Events, redesigns workspaces, and delivers ergonomics training sessions. Rick has consulted with clients from diverse industries representing the aerospace, appliance, automotive, consumer product, defense, chemical, electronics, food and beverage, healthcare, pharmaceutical, petroleum, steel, and heavy-vehicle manufacturing fields.

Since first joining Humantech in 1991, Rick has accumulated years of ergonomics and human factors consulting experience including a variety of human factors and ergonomics positions with Hill-Rom. Prior to joining Humantech, he worked as an ergonomics engineer in product development at Unisys.

Rick holds a Master of Arts degree in Human Factors from the University of Dayton. He has achieved recognition as Certified Professional Ergonomist (CPE). He is on the Board of Directors for the Association of Safe Patient Handling Professionals and leads the professional certification process for that organization.
