HUMANTECH CONTINUES TO ADVANCE THE PURSUIT OF ERGONOMICS-RELATED COLLEGE STUDIES BY AWARDING SCHOLARSHIPS

Ann Arbor, MICH — Humantech is pleased to announce the winners of its 2008 - 2009 college scholarship program. Three college students earned scholarship awards of $1,500 each for demonstrating their passion for advancing the field of ergonomics, strong academic background, and original project or unique practical application in ergonomics.
"The winning applicants illustrate the forward thinking and ingenuity our future ergonomics thought leaders are capable of offering the industry," said Josh Kerst, vice president of Humantech. "We applaud these students for their hard work and commitment to the field of ergonomics."
The winner of the 2008 - 2009 doctorate scholarship is Linsey Barker, Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. Ms. Barker is pursuing a Ph.D. in Industrial Systems Engineering from Virginia Tech. She has worked as a research engineer for the National Rehabilitation Hospital in Washington D.C., and plans to pursue projects related to optimizing human performance in work systems related to the health care industry.
The recipient of the 2008 - 2009 graduate scholarship is Sarah Grigg, Clemson University. Ms. Grigg plans to complete her Masters degree in Industrial Engineering this year at Clemson University. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering, graduating summa cum laude, from Clemson. Sarah plans to pursue a career in academia and is developing her own research area in transportation safety.
The 2008 - 2009 undergraduate scholarship was awarded to Andrew Jeffery, University of Waterloo. Mr. Jeffery will graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology in 2010 from University of Waterloo in Ontario, Canada. He has worked as a research assistant on a project funded by the WSIB Centre of Research Expertise for the Prevention of Musculoskeletal Disorders.
The 2009 - 2010 scholarship application will be available later this spring via Humantech's Web site at www.humantech.com/scholarship. Applicants must be pursuing a degree in an ergonomics-related field.
