HUMANTECH INC. RECOMMENDS A '30-INCH VIEW'SM OF BUSINESS

For Immediate Release

Ergonomics consulting firm names Keith Bossey to introduce new business improvement methodology to corporate executives, operations managers and Lean champions

Ann Arbor, Mich. - Humantech Inc. announces the introduction of the "30-inch view SM of business," a new approach to business performance improvement, Lean manufacturing, operational excellence and employee engagement. The Company has hired Keith R. Bossey as business development manager to introduce the methodology to corporate executives, operations managers and Lean champions.

While standard practice for many corporate executives and managers to take a 30,000-foot view of their businesses, Humantech recommends a different perspective - the 30-inch view — essentially the distance that a person's arm extends from the shoulder to interact with others and the work environment. Once empowered to adopt a 30-inch view of people and performance, companies can expect to realize significant improvements in profitability, operational efficiency, Lean practices, and worker morale, and reductions in injuries and workers' compensation costs. Humantech has seen improvements of 20 to 40 percent or more.

"The 30,000-foot view is essential to strategic planning, but the 30-inch view is crucial for successful execution of that plan," said M. Franz Schneider, founder and CEO of Ann Arbor, Michigan-based Humantech. "The 30-inch view drills down to the intersection between your people and their work environment. With more than 25 years of experience in ergonomics and human factors, we can help companies address this 'last mile' of successful strategy implementation."

The 30-inch view enables companies to close the gap on their "discretionary productivity," which Humantech defines as the difference between production levels of a fully engaged workforce in a well-functioning workplace and work space; compared with the productivity in a place where the work environment, tools, processes and injuries prevent people from doing their best work.

"The lesson is that people matter and they're everywhere," Bossey said. "We believe that, 'within 30 inches of your employees sits all of the profit your organization will ever capture.' Therefore, you need to remove or minimize the friction between people and their work environment. The 30-inch view of people and performance can help companies uncover newfound sources of sustainable financial gain."

Bossey has more than 17 years experience building and leading integrated sales and marketing operations for entrepreneurial companies. Prior to joining Humantech, he was executive vice president of sales for the Rivel Research Group in Westport, Connecticut. Bossey holds a bachelor of science degree in management from Binghamton University in Binghamton, New York.
