HUMANTECH IS ONE OF MICHIGAN’S COOLEST PLACES TO WORK—AGAIN!

For Immediate Release

Ann Arbor, Mich. – Humantech, Inc., a leading human performance ergonomics consulting firm, was named, for the second time in a row, one of Michigan’s “Cool Places to Work” in the competition held by Crain’s Business News. More than 215 companies and non-profit organizations were nominated for the award. Humantech ranked 2nd out of 20 companies in the 1-50 employees category.

Humantech’s cool points included opportunities for telecommuting, remote office work, and tailored work hours; generous private workspaces in a relaxed work environment; and access to equipment such as laptops with DVD players, pocket PCs, cell phones, wireless broadband, T1 Internet connections, digital cameras, and an extensive music library.

“Cool companies take a look at their employees and what matters to them most,” explained Kevin Marrs, director of survey services at the American Society of Employers (ASE). According to Mary Schroeder, ASE president and CEO, another important factor for employees is the relationship with immediate supervisors. A cool company has to be “a kind of place that welcomes talented people of all backgrounds,” she said.

Selection was based on both employee nominations and surveys conducted by the American Society of Employers. The survey provided objective measures about policies, benefits, and “talent management” practices. It was weighted according to company size and the importance of the attribute. Based on the total score, 60 companies stood out in five divisions. To read the full article on this year’s Cool Companies, click here.
