The Humantech Scholarship is intended to encourage college students in ergonomics engineering or related fields and to provide additional incentive and career motivation in practical applications.

Ms. Bobbie Watts, Auburn UniversityMs. Watts is pursuing a PhD in Industrial and Systems Engineering at Auburn University in Auburn, AL. She holds a Masters Degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering from Auburn and a Bachelors of Science from Clemson University. She is a Certified Professional Ergonomist and worked as a Human Factors Engineer for USPS. She is currently conducting research that incorporates material handling ergonomic concerns into operation research scheduling.Ms. Watts is a member of the Auburn University Black Student Union, the National Society of Black Engineers, and is on the Leadership Council for the Metro Atlanta Boys and Girls Club. |

Mr. Vivek Pinto, New York UniversityMr. Pinto is pursuing a PhD in Ergonomics and Biomechanics at New York University. He holds a Masters Degree in this discipline from New York University and a Bachelors of Science from the University of Pittsburgh in Mechanical Engineering. He is currently a research assistant at NYU's Occupational and Industrial Orthopaedic Center.In 2007, Mr. Pinto led a student design team to the finals of an ergonomics competition at the Applied Ergonomics Conference. He has played competitive ice hockey since high school and captained several intercollegiate teams. For his doctoral research, Mr. Pinto would like to combine his experience in athletics, industry, and academia toward a project that will contribute to improved human performance and reduced injuries. |

Mr. Greg Creswell, University of WaterlooMr. Creswell will graduate in the spring of 2008 with a Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology with the ergonomics option from the University of Waterloo in Ontario, Canada. He is a director and charter member of the Waterloo Human Factors and Ergonomics Club. His extracurricular activities include campus recreation sports and serving as a volunteer ambassador at the University of Guelph in Ontario, Canada.Mr. Creswell aspires to become a Certified Professional Ergonomist and deliver both traditional and non-traditional ergonomics consulting services. |
