The job we highlighted this week was the entry “Tilt Dolly” from the 2008 Find It – Fix It Challenge. Prior to the improvement, the operator had to bend and reach over the edge of a deep container to retrieve parts.
Let’s see how they fixed that job!
The company designed a manual cart to raise the container off the floor and tilt it towards the worker to allow easy access to the parts. This “fix” improved the worker’s body posture and reduced strain on the lower back.
