The Bottom Line: The Revised ACGIH® TLV® for Hand Activity
In this month’s installment, board-certified ergonomist Blake McGowan explains why the revised ACGIH Hand Activity TLV is a better predictor of hand, wrist, and forearm MSDs.
The revisions include:
- lowering the acceptable limits for the normalized hand peak forces and hand activity level.
- only considering hand exertions greater than 10% of strength capabilities
- lowering the acceptable and unacceptable levels for the TLVs.
