Video: Five Keys for Effective Job Rotation
You might recall, from my previous articles, that I usually get inspiration from sports. This past weekend, while watching the U.S. Olympic Track and Field Trials, I got to thinking about the strategic lessons we can take away from these events that tie into managing an ergonomics process.
In this case, I’ll use the decathlon as a conceptual bridge to the practice of job rotation. With 10 events per athlete, the carefully-planned schedule of the decathlon (over a 2-day period) gives athletes the best chance to remain healthy and perform to their full potential in each event. Doesn’t this sound like the goal of job rotation for our industrial athletes?
